Adventure is calling once again as 2018 is closing into the end. Last year me and my best friend spent new years camping in -15F at uphill leanto in the Adirondacks. Needless to say we didn’t see anyone else. We have decided to head out to the Adirondacks this time with a different plan in mind. We would(assuming my vehicle can make it up) park at the Garden parking lot a popular trail head into Johns Brooks lodge and a great starting location for other adventures in the high peaks.

The 2 mountains that we have planned to climb and probably break trail for is Mount Marcy and Haystack. These can harbor unforgiving conditions on a bad day. We would pull in a pulk full of camping gear if there is enough snow .otherwise we will be backpacking it, from there we will be heading up to a primitive camping site by slant rock testing out a new 4 season tent. After hopefully submitting both we will head back to the car and then head over to the Adirondack Loj to spend new years eve. I will also be video blogging this entire trip so those who have always wondered what winter camping and hiking looks like can have a glimpse.

There is nothing better than ending the year in the mountains and waking up to a new year in the mountains. Be sure to stay tuned for this amazing adventure.
